From the Coloring Book:
“Pleased and charmed to meet you, sir, and welcome.  I am Ezlynn.  What brings you to my shoppe?”

“I can see you’re reluctant to engage the services of a witch.  I confess I understand.  In this day of steam and steel, it is odd to turn to superstition when science has seen us so far.  Doubtless your need is dire, or you’d not have sought me out at all.  I’m afraid that may escalate the cost of my services beyond what my advertisement in the papers suggests.”

“Oh, don’t go thinking me a charlatan just yet, dear sir.  The lease of these premises to one of my profession did not come easily, and don’t think my fee so large that I would dream of spoiling that effort.  In the way of good faith, let me concoct a small remedy.  When it avails you, I think you’ll find my services worth retaining.”

“An airship, you say?  Sluggish against the wind…lost her pep a bit, and nothing a mechanic or engineer can tell you as to why?  Tell me, is she making any noises, or perhaps wearing particular parts faster than she ought to? Yes, hardly surprising.  The gremlins have been particularly bad this year.”

“Of course you haven’t seen any.  You can’t see gremlins at all, my dear man.  If you could, I should think a few hands could rid any ship of them in the matter of a few hours.  But no.  Quite invisible.  Intangible too, for the most part.  Oh, no one really knows how they foul things up, only that they can only do it when someone isn’t watching.  Back in the old days, that meant that the most they could do was tip over a butter-churn or steal a shoe, but with how complicated our machines have gotten, they need but loosen a screw or lift a lever to cause all manner of calamity.”

“Let me grab a few items and lets be off.  Who knows what mischief they have gotten up too since you left.”
